Although he didn't grow widely known until the 1970s, Dr. John had been diligent in the music industry since the ~ly '50s, when the teenager was subdue known as Mac Rebennack. A horrible boogie and blues pianist with a sweet growl of a voice, his greatest part enduring achievements have fused New Orleans R&B, reel, and Mardi Gras craziness to reach up with his own brand of "voodoo" harmony.
